Brian, Sadie, and I headed up to the Petersons' beautiful cabin in Twin Lakes, Colorado on Saturday morning and spent the weekend together relaxing, cooking, singing, reading, playing and listening to banjo, bundling up and taking walks, and watching the snow softly fall outside.

On our way out of town, we stopped at the Jumpin' Good Goat Dairy to taste test some delicious goat cheese and to say hello to the goats. Back to the cabin and a nap for both of us.
Sadie and I truly relished our time together..we spent LOTS of time curled up under a blanket reading stories and listening to music.
On Tuesday morning we got up and went for a nice long walk around the neighborhood. Sadie happily rode on my back and loved that all the dogs in the entire area joined us along our way.
And then things changed......

Not everyone slept as well as we had hoped (especially the mamas), so we all felt a bit off-kilter the following morning and everyone packed up and headed home around lunchtime. I cleaned the house from top to bottom and then collapsed in a pile on the couch for the rest of the day. Luckily, Sadie was as tired as I was from all the fun, and was up for a relaxing night too.
We had a leisurely Thursday morning and slowly worked our way home. It was sure hard to leave the peace, serenity, and beauty of Twin Lakes, but it was such a nice treat to have that time together in the mountains.
